Reworked Swamp, 0.9.7 supertest.


Here is the minimap of the reworked Swamp from the 0.9.7 supertest.


They did major changes on all corners and added extra covers (Buildings mostly), glad to see them opening up some maps.

0.9.7 new version.

    1. It looks like both of the sniper's nests have had some of their lines of sight and fire blocked off. Interesting.

  11. I actually don't have any big problems left after Erlenberg and Komarin was fixed/removed, but this one seems decent improvement. I see that mid will be much more important after this patch, and hopefully pushing would be a safer option right now.

  13. More map changes where they try to wreck the TD class. Wargaming I get it, you hate TD's ... now Just swap out my Tier 10 TD's for the equivalent heavies and ill be happy

    3. Alyx, much as I enjoy playing TDs, this map sorely needed a game play revision because snipers have positions that are far too powerful which in turn, causes too many draws or at least too many long drawn out games.

  14. There is literally no difference, people will continue to camp on their side of the river because if you cross it you will die. Just remove the map from the game. The only difference is that you can cross quicker now, but it's still going to be insta death. They've removed some of the building making it even harder to cross the river and succeed, making the map into a bigger camp. I can't wait to play this with 3+ arty on each side.

    1. I agree that it's possible that this map may have just become more arty friendly. OTOH, I'm not ready at all to agree that this revision won't change the map's overall dynamics. There are a lot of small changes that you can't see on the map unless you zoom it out and examine it more closely.

  15. aah...another widely appreciated map change...now with enhanced access to the most worthless spots...A1 to K0...weeeeee now I can actually visit there...this is so facepalm

    1. Actually, I'm nos so sure that those spots (i.e. the NW and SE corners) are useless at all. Of course, I'm only speculating now. We'll have to see how useful they are once the map gets released.

      I can foresee those corners becoming potential new arty set up locations, if there's any place where they can set up with good cover. Also, I can see those locations being potentially good sniper locations that allow for lines of fire behind the ridges that teams have liked camping, i.e. around D456 and H456-ish(?).

      I wouldn't be quite so quick to assume that those locations will be useless. I can't imagine that WG went to so much effort to make them accessible without there being some possible legitimate value to the positions. But only time will tell.
